Interesting article in Information Week discussing the concerns surrounding online ID verification & reputation systems. The article highlights both the need for a workable system, & the issues involved with verifying individuals' identity in the virtual world. OpenID, a user-centric digital ID system, is certainly a move in the right direction.
NetIDme is currently developing a verified OpenID service that will allow members to use NetIDme to 'vouch' for' their identity online. As the adoption of OpenID grows, the NetIDme service will allow web users to securely login to websites that support OpenID, without having to create any new user names or passwords.
